Electro Collagen Induction Therapy (ECIT) is an advanced skin needling treatment, which is up to 400-times more potent than any other needling system. With results comparable to Fraxel laser, no other skin needling procedure compares to this unrivalled skin revision technique.
Using an electric machine, the electro signals induce your body’s natural human growth factor, further increasing blood circulation to the treated area, and significantly stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Used for facial and body treatments alike, the ECIT treatment has nearly endless list of benefits:
Before the treatment can start, we will assess your current state of the skin. If you are visiting us for the first time, please allow an additional hour for our complete Facial Imaging Skin Assessment.
Although ECIT is a non-invasive procedure, you might be required to prep your skin with home care in the weeks leading up to this treatment. Your Skin Therapist will provide you with exact instructions.
You will be required to give consent for treatment by signing the 'Informed Consent' form. This way, we can make sure that you can receive the ECIT Skin Needling treatment and have no present conditions which are contraindicated with this procedure.
Please note that skin numbing is required for this treatment (numbing cream is available for purchase over the counter at a pharmacy). You will be required to come pre-numbed for your treatment. During your skin consultation, your Skin Therapist will give you detailed instructions on the numbing procedure.
During treatment, you will be lying down comfortably while your Skin Therapist uses a hand-held device to "stamp" over your skin, following an even pattern.
This treatment method is relatively quick with minimal discomfort (due to localised numbing). Some areas of skin, especially when close to the bone (eg. forehead), tend to be more sensitive to pain, but any discomfort is only brief. In some clients, minimal surface bleeding might occur.
Post-treatment, your skin will feel sunburnt-like; sometimes, your skin can appear to be covered in little dots (replicating the pattern produced by the ECIT device). In some cases, clients can experience pin-point bruising which dissipates after about 4 days, which is the average downtime for this treatment. Your post-treatment care is simple and easy and will be explained by your Skin Therapist.
With the ECIT procedure, you will see noticeable results after every treatment. Your skin will produce significant amounts of collagen following every ECIT treatment; you can expect the results from each treatment to last approximately 12 months. We recommend a course of 4 to 6 ECIT treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart, supported by a daily post-treatment routine, to build up the production of collagen, elastin, and the supportive networks of the skin.
A Facial Imaging Skin Assessment is an essential first step in your skin correction journey. That’s why we offer a complimentary skin consultation with your first skin treatment.
